1. Electronics is the branch of engineering that deals with the study and application of electrical circuits, devices, and systems.

2. Electronic devices are made up of electronic components such as diodes, transistors, capacitors, resistors, and inductors.

3. A diode is a two-terminal electronic component that allows the flow of electric current in one direction only.

4. A transistor is a three-terminal electronic component that can amplify or switch electronic signals and electric power.

5. A capacitor is an electronic component that can store electrical charge and energy in an electric field.

6. A resistor is an electronic component that offers resistance to the flow of electric current.

7. An inductor is an electronic component that can store electrical energy in a magnetic field.

8. An integrated circuit (IC) is a miniaturized electronic circuit that contains multiple electronic components on a single chip.

9. Digital electronics deals with the representation, manipulation, and transmission of digital signals using binary code.

10. Analog electronics deals with the representation, manipulation, and transmission of continuous signals using variable voltages or currents.

11. Digital signals are discrete signals that have only two possible values (0 or 1).

12. Analog signals are continuous signals that can take any value within a certain range (e.g., voltage or current).

13. Logic gates are electronic circuits that perform logical operations on digital signals using Boolean algebra (AND, OR, NOT, XOR).

14. A microprocessor is a single integrated circuit (IC) that contains the central processing unit (CPU) of a computer system on a single chip.

15. A microcontroller is a small computer on a single integrated circuit (IC) that contains a CPU, memory, and input/output (I/O) ports for controlling devices and systems.
